How To Create A Chatbot on WhatsApp Using WhatsApp Smartbot

There are a lot of people who are looking to utilize WhatsApp as an automated communication tool by creating an automated WhatsApp Chatbot which can act as a WhatsApp Smartbot.

First of all you need to understand how smartbot works? How do you create a bot on WhatsApp?
From the above flow-chart you can get the basic idea of how it really works. Whenever someone sends a message to smartbot number, it’ll search keywords inside incoming message. If keyword found then smartbot will get the coresponding reply template set by you for that particular keyword, if keyword not found then a default template(set by you) will be used to reply.

KEYWORD: It’s word for which you want to send a particular reply. It can be any word or a single alphabet also.
REPLY TEMPLATE: It’s a message template which you will create & map to keywords.
Note: A single reply template can be mapped to multiple keywords but a single keyword must not be mapped to multiple reply templates.

LET’S SAY YOU WANT TO REPLY “HELLO” TO ALL THOSE WHO SEND “HI” TO YOUR SMARTBOT THEN YOU NEED TO FOLLOW BELOW STEPS

Step 01. To Create Reply Template. Click on Menu then Reply Templates

Enter Title : It can be anything from which you can recognise the content of this template.
Message Type: Select Text because you want to reply “Hello” which is text. When you select message type then controls as per your selection will be visible.

In Text Message box type “Hello” & click on Add Template button.

Step 02. To Map Reply Template with keywords. Click on Menu then Manage Keywords

In the Keyword box type Hi or multiple words separated by comma for which you want to reply same message. For example if you want to reply “Hello” for all incoming messages which contains either Hi or Hey or Hello then you need to type Hi,Hey,Hello.

From Reply Template drop-down list select the reply template which you’ve created “Reply of Hi” & click on Add button.

That’s it! Now you know how to create reply template & map them with keywords.

To change your smartbot’s display picture or any reply setting, please click on Menu then Manage Channel

Make changes & click on UPDATE SETTINGS button to apply changes.
